We started off with a two hour long group call to decide on our focus and individual segment topics. Then we each completed our individual written segments which became our outline. The work was split among a host, a microsite designer, an editor, and two researchers. We worked together on the overall script and recorded the final podcast via zoom.

Pre-Production

I included three different assignments which are the Pre-Production Meeting Summary, 3 Sources Blogs, and my reply on Canvas to discuss the topics. Although I did not learn anything from any of the pre-production assignments, I was able to review how to properly cite in MLA format. It would be even better if we were not allowed to use citation tools so we would actually be practicing citing.

STORY GOES HERE

Production: Creating the Podcast & Microsite

As the microsite designer, the microsite has the be the one I talk about for this section. The above three screenshots are the three pages on our site. I learned how to make a beautiful page with WIX which is amazing as it does not require any coding. It allows everyone to be webdesigner.

One major thing that went wrong during this project was our initial outline. We actually completed it during the zoom call. However, we were completely off topic. Nothing on our outline answers the prompt. We ended up having another emergency call to decide on our main argument and segments.

I learned to collaborate with my group while splitting up the work. We did not split everything nor did we worked on everything together. We made our scripts and outlines together as a group but split up other works like creating the microsite or editing the podcast.

I learned how to make a website without actually coding which is very interesting for me. Wix allows anyone and everyone to become a web designer without prior knowledge in programming. I will put in some hopefully creative elements in my essay.
